Golden sand with front-row seats…
Exploring Amorgos, you will come across pristine beaches, where you can discover the healing powers of the Aegean Sea. Every beach on the island is ideal for snorkelling, SUP or simply taking it all in, from the sunny shores. Boat trips are popular here, as they provide a unique adventure to come up, close and personal with the Aegean Sea and find hidden caves and small inhabited islands.
The famous “Agia Anna” beach, location of Luc Besson’s “Le Grande Bleu” film is located a short distance from the capital of the island and the sacred Monastery of Hozoviotissa.
…Amorgos is an invitation to also experience the true Greek culture, with quaint villages, where locals offer their friendly hospitality and where you can see traditional Amorgian houses. During specific times of the year, there are customary celebrations which all visitors can experience and are welcomed by the locals. The capital of the island, Chora, is a gorgeous little town, with small white-washed alleyways, authentic Amorgian boutiques and Cycladic architecture coated in vibrant bougainvillea. Located nearby, you will find The Monastery of Hozoviotissa, the second built church in Greece and one of the most popular national monasteries. The experience is magical, walking up 300 steps to reach the monument built in the high cliffs, overlooking the deep blue waters.
